About Dr. Kulkarni

Academic Background

Dr. Kishore G. Kulkarni has been the Distinguished Professor of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver since 1989. As an Adjunct Professor, he has also taught at the University of Colorado-Boulder, the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, Colorado State University, and the Colorado School of Mines.

Education

Research & Publications

His research focuses on macroeconomic issues and international trade, globalization and outsourcing dynamics, inflation and currency valuation, and India-related economic topics. He has authored or co-authored ten books, some of which have become widely adopted textbooks at universities in the USA and India. He has published over 200 refereed journal articles.

To support his research, Prof. Kulkarni has held Visiting Research Fellowships and received grants from institutions including the Institute of Humane Studies (IHS), the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR).

From 2001 to 2016, Dr. Kulkarni served as managing editor of the Indian Journal of Economics and Business.

Teaching

Prof. Kulkarni began full-time teaching in 1980 and has over 45 years of experience in the classroom. His engaging and humorous teaching style has made him one of the most sought-after professors, earning him several teaching honors including the Outstanding Teaching Award from the Golden Key International Honor Society (2001), the Best Teaching Award from the Student Economic Society (2014), and inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers (1998) and Who's Who in the World.

He was selected for the Spring 1994 voyage of the Semester at Sea Program and has delivered lectures and seminars in approximately 30 countries.
